GAL’s Corner

This little corner of my blog is share with you, my ever dedicated reader what I eat, drink, or use that is vegan and environmentally friendly.

A lot of people ask me what kind of laundry detergent I use. Well, I only use Charlie’s Soap because not only is it vegan but it contains only four ingredients.   Most people think that just because a product says *GREEN* on the label that it is vegan and earth friendly. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Even so-called green products, contain animal by-products.  One way to know for sure is read the label and then look up the ingredients using the App:  ANIMAL FREE.

In terms of cleaning products, I went back to basics, that is to say, I went back to using what my Nonna and mother use:  Vinegar, Baking Soda, and/or Bon Ami  (for hard to scrub stuff).  ’nuff said.

Also most folks do not realize this but not all alcohol is created vegan.  Personally, I am a fan of Kettle One. Thankfully, their vodka is “vegan-friendly”.  Absolute is also vegan friendly if you prefer.  A good way to find out if your libation of choice is vegan-friendly is to check Barnivore.  They do not have an *official* app yet, but you can easily bookmark their site on your phone.

I am also a fan of Riesling and was very happy to learn the brand I often buy is “vegan friendly”:  Chateau St. Michelle USA

As for beer, well….um… I am not really a beer drinker. However, every now and again,  I will partake and when I do, I’ll order a Blue Moon Belgian White because I know it is “vegan friendly”.  However, when in doubt, I search Barnivore.

My goodness, how do you stay so beautiful?

Well, let me tell you…     😉

My favorite skin care products are: Andalou Naturals and Kiss My Face

As for makeup, as a long time user of Bare Minerals, I was saddened to learn this company is not vegan friendly. So sorry Bare Minerals, I am breaking up with you…buh-bye!  I was also shocked to learn their products are full of chemicals and fillers — gross!  Since then I have switched to Mineral Hygienics.

I also use a few products by Origins (which I believe some of their products are animal friendly).

In terms of vegan hair color, I use Naturtint, which I purchase at Whole Foods or you can buy on line from Vitamin Shoppe, Vitacost, Amazon or Drugstor.com

What about my dog or cat, you ask?

If you search vegan dog food, I’m sure you will find many products but in terms of vegan cat food, this is the only sight I know have that explains how you feed your cat (natural canivores, btw) a vegan diet.   http://vegepet.com/index.html

  1. So you are an alcoholic. That explains a lot. That explains why you are so conflicted, dishonest and angry. You need way more time with your therapist. I hope I see you around, then I can LMAO. Love and kisses, “BEAUTIFUL”
